New Mitsubishi keys made near Bowman Field in Louisville KY
We recently helped a customer near Bowman Field in Louisville KY who needed a new Mitsubishi car key. The customer was parked not far from Taylorsville Road and the Bowman Field airport area. They had lost their only key and needed a working replacement so they could start the car again.
In the photos you can see the new Mitsubishi key we made and the programming process. This was a Mitsubishi Mirage and the vehicle required a transponder key to start the car. These keys may look simple but they contain a chip that must be programmed to the car.
First we cut the new key to match the door and ignition. We use professional key blanks parts such as Ilco keys, which is a very common brand. After cutting the key we connected our diagnostic tool to the vehicle computer through the OBD port. The device communicates with the vehicle system and allows us to program the chip inside the key.
You can see the Autel programming tool in the pictures while it confirms the vehicle profile and performs key learn. Once the programming was complete the new key was tested in the ignition and door locks. The vehicle started as always and the customer had a fully working replacement key again.
